Current sat pic tells the story, both troughs are now activating. My forecast of an active Spring is now starting to eventuate, though the cold air in Southern latitudes is still penetrating inland, which in turn is activating these inland troughs.
Coloured arrows indicate moisture moving down from the NW. Also not this is not at the surface layer, but at the layers of 5,000 to 20,000 feet or so. In any case, its bringing moisture in from the Indonesian region, and is mixing with the cold air indicated by the blue arrow coming up from the SW.
Speaking of the blue arrow, if it moves a little further North than expected it may trigger off a big cloud band that will end any talk of heat down South.
Today there were good storms again in SE QLD, expect this pattern to be regular for the next few months and get stronger as more surface moisture sneaks in.
