Visualizing the very warm October.

Remembering our seasonal forecast had an 80% chance of being above average, we had an almost historic event through 5 states in the last 48 hours move across the country.

Here are the anomalies, both max and min, against the old baseline of 1961 – 1990, which is a joke.

However, this is the sort of graph we should be seeing, against the 1980 – 2010 baseline.

This is more of a reflection of what its takes to snow in Qld in the middle of October.

Then again the BOM still thinks an El Nino is coming, so in the credibility stakes they are a mile behind.

Soon they will have an explanation for the old baseline, just like the recent explanation for the increase in Antarctic Sea Ice.
