Who loaded the dice in 1635?

The Great Colonial Hurricane struck the Virginia, New England and Long Island area, in 1635.

Its pressure was extremely low at 930mb, and sustained winds of 135 MPH.

It was a Category 4 Hurricane, and may have struck as a strong category 3.

The question is, with CO2 at 270ppm, who loaded the dice back then?

How did this monster storm form to be bigger and stronger than Sandy some 377 years ago?

Did Columbus load the dice by exploring the world? Did Ferdinand Magellan load the dice circumnavigating the globe?

Could you imagine the damage this storm would have caused had it struck in 2012?
