Indian Ocean off the NW Coast.

A good way to see whats going is to check the upper 300 metre temperature anomaly.

From the global graph, you can see the waters are generally warmer than normal in the upper 300 metres.

Which means that the seasonal cooling should relax shortly and it will become warmer than normal, increasing our chances for good rainfall late Spring and Summer.

Notice also there is quite a deal of warm water through to Indonesia and North of Papua New Guinea. this is ideal for the next few months.

Also you can see from here where the water enters that its only a matter of time before the warmth returns from the Indonesian flowthrough.
